MAP SL (INCI Name: Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate)

MAP SLTM (Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) is a stable, water soluble Vitamin C derivative. Vitamin C has been well-known for its inhibitory effects on melanin formation, but it has not been widely used for this function due to its instability in formulations. 


Features:

--Water Solubility: MAP SL TM is completely water soluble and easily absorbed through the skin. Its water-solubility offers the formulator with formulating flexibility, Stability. MAP SL TM is much more stable to heat and light than vitamin C. Experimental data showed that 3% aqueous solution of MAP SLTM maintained 90% of its activity after 6 months of storage in 40 ºC water bath. 


--Skin Lightening/Beautifying Effects: MAP SLTM exhibits a strong skin lightening effects which was shown useful in clinical practice. It has strong inhibitory effects on melanin formation therefore resulting in beautified, even-toned skin. 


--Radical Scavenger: Once absorbed into the skin, MAP SLTM can act as a radical scavenger to eliminate radicals and remove the signs of wrinkles and aging. 


--Synergistic with Vitamin E: MAP SLTM works synergistically with Vitamin E. 


--Stable Formulation: Unlike other skin lightening agents such as hydroquinone, MAP SLTM is stable without color change problems. 


--Safety: MAP SLTM is very safe with no toxicity and irritation. Applications: All cosmetic and personal care products. 


Use Levels: 

Creams: 1-10%; Lotions: 0.5-3%.
